Giant Steps/AIND Needs Assessment

Needs assessment to understand what services and supports can be provided to enhance the lives of individuals with ASD, developmental disabilities and related neurological impairments.

In 1992 a small group of parents came together to start Giant Steps School, supported by the 501c3 entity The American Institute for Neuro-Integrative Development(AIND).  Giant Steps was built upon a commitment to remain connected to the needs of families while staying current with emerging research to enhance the lives of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), developmental disabilities, and related neurological impairments.

Giant Steps/AIND has engaged the services of the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) to gather information about the kinds of services and supports you need and want for your child or young adult with ASD. We are planning to offer an expanded range of services on our campus on Barberry Road in Southport but also through a flexible set of services that might be delivered in other locations including public schools.  We want to hear from you about what you’d like to see.

This survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. You have three options for completing the Questionnaire:
  • You can complete it online
  • You can print out a paper copy to complete and mail it in
  • We can arrange for a phone interview at your convenience

Your responses will be kept completely anonymous. However, we would also like to be able to reach you by phone or email if we need clarification about completed surveys.  We would also be glad to share with you the results of the completed Needs Assessment as well as news of progress on new programs. We very much appreciate your willingness to share your time and experience with us.   Thank you!
